Dr. Zoheir Farhat is the founder and group leader of the Advanced Tribology Laboratory and a member of the Institute of Research in Materials (IRM) at Dalhousie University.
The Advanced Tribology Laboratory (ATL) at Dalhousie University, is one of the largest research groups in Atlantic Canada in the field of tribology. The research group is facilitated with modern tribological testing and characterizing equipment. The research of ATL focuses on the wear behaviour of Onshore and Offshore Oil and Gas Pipeline Steels, Development and Characterization of Ni-P, Ni-P-TiNi Coatings, Wear of Automotive Al-Based Alloys, Wear and Dent Resistance of Super-elastic TiNi Bearings for Aerospace Applications, etc.
